White Pelicans breed on inland lakes in selected areas of southwestern Canada and northwestern United States. They migrate south during the winter months and can be found along the southern coastal states from California to Florida and south to Tobasco and Yucatan.
In Florida, they are primarily a winter resident arriving in October and departing in April. However, there are a few that remain year round, although there is no evidence of breeding. They can be found along both coasts and on inland lakes.
