Ring-billed Gulls spend their summer breeding season near lakes, rivers or the coast in Canada and the northern United States. They are migratory and most move south to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of North America.
This species is a common fall through spring visitor in Florida. The bulk of the wintering birds are present in January/February. Most have left by the latter half of March.
