Eastern Phoebe Sayornis phoebe

The breeding range of the Eastern Phoebe is from northeast British Columbia and parts of the Maritime Provinces and the United States east of the Rocky Mountains as far south as Texas and northwest Florida.  This species is migratory, wintering in the southeastern part of the United States and Central America.  This is one of the first birds to return to the breeding grounds in spring (mid-late March) and one of the last to leave in the fall (Sept- early Oct).

In Florida, it is common throughout the state during the winter months.  There are several records of this species actually breeding in Florida.
