American Redstart Setophaga ruticilla

The American Redstart breeds during the summer months throughout most of the eastern United States, except for a few southeastern states, and much of southern Canada.  They winter in Central America, the West Indies, and northern South America.

In Florida, this species is a common migrant, heading southward during Aug-Sept and northward during Apr-May.  However, there have been a few reports of breeding birds in Florida over the years.
