Sora Porzana carolina

The Sora is a small bird found in fresh water marshes.  It is the most common and widely distributed rail in North America.  It breeds in the northern portion of the United States and in southern Canada. They winter along the coasts of the southern states, in Mexico, Central America, and the northern tip of South America.

In Florida, they are a common visitor throughout the state during the winter months, usually arriving in September/October and departing in March/April.
