Eastern Towhee Pipilo erythrophthalmus

The Eastern Towhee is a common bird of open woodlands.  It breeds in the eastern half of the United States south to Florida and northeastern Texas.  Birds in the northern states will migrate to the southern states during the winter months.

This species is a year-round resident of Florida.  They breed between April and August and may produce two or three broods a year.
