Brown Thrasher Toxostoma rufum

The Brown Thrasher breeds east of the Rocky Mountains, north into southern Canada, and south to eastern Texas, the Gulf coast and south Florida.

In Florida, the Brown Thrasher is a common year-round resident.  Over the winter months, their numbers are augmented by migrants from farther north.  This species breeds throughout the mainland and, at least occasionally, in the Keys.  They are double-brooded and are sometimes hosts to the Brown-headed Cowbirds.
