The Wilson’s Snipe breeds throughout most of Canada and the northern United States. These birds winter from southern Alaska and Massachusetts south to the northern part of South America. They are found inland as well as along the coasts.
This species is a winter resident in Florida, usually arriving in September-October and departing in April-May. They are common in northern and central Florida, becoming less common the further south one goes.
