Semipalmated Plover Charadrius semipalmatus

The Semipalmated Plover is a common fall through through spring visitor (Aug-May) in Florida.  Small numbers, typically in basic (non-breeding) plumage remain throughout the summer.  They are usually found along the Florida coasts, but can be found inland.  These birds breed along the Arctic coasts of Alaska and Canada, Alaska and Canada.
